She is admitted to The Florida Bar and serves on the Elder Law Guardianship Committee as well as Elder Law Section- Estate Planning, Advance Directive, Probate Committee. Ms. Kania is dedicated to working collaboratively with hospitals, healthcare systems, case management teams, and community stakeholders to develop effective guardianship and legal solutions for incapacitated individuals facing complex discharge and placement barriers. Since joining Kania Law Offices in 2020, she has developed extensive experience assisting with high-complexity guardianship and incapacity cases involving vulnerable adults throughout Florida.
Faye regularly collaborates with attorneys, hospitals, physicians, social workers, case managers, discharge planners, professional guardians, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and long-term care providers to help navigate legal barriers impacting patient care and discharge planning.
Her experience includes emergency temporary guardianships, incapacity proceedings, long-term care placement coordination, Medicaid planning, probate administration, and matters involving individuals who lack decision-making capacity and do not have an available surrogate decision-maker. Before entering the legal profession, Faye built a successful career in sales and business development after earning her degrees in Criminal Justice. Her background in communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving continues to serve her well when assisting families and professionals through complex and emotionally challenging situations.
Faye earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and her Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Hillsborough Community College. While attending Hillsborough Community College, she served as Secretary of the National Society of Leadership and Success, reflecting her longstanding commitment to leadership and professional development.
As a Florida Notary Public and Senior Paralegal, Faye is dedicated to protecting vulnerable adults and helping families, healthcare providers, and guardians navigate complex legal and healthcare-related challenges. She assists with the preparation and administration of guardianship matters and supports attorneys in addressing legal issues affecting older adults and individuals who lack decision-making capacity.
Through her work with the firm, Jessica has gained experience assisting with guardianship administration, incapacity proceedings, probate matters, and emergency temporary guardianships. She regularly prepares petitions, motions, inventories, annual reports, and proposed orders while helping ensure compliance with court requirements and statutory obligations. Her role also involves facilitating communication among attorneys, families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders involved in complex legal and care-related matters.
Jessica's background includes leadership and legislative advocacy experience through Florida Youth in Government, where she participated in legislative drafting, policy analysis, committee proceedings, and leadership development.
